Product Description

PHOSPHORIC ACID TYPE ACID CLEANER

Rust solvent is a phosphoric acid type cleaner use dafter dilution with water for removal of oil, grease, organic coating andoxides from most metals.

Rust solvent can be used hot. It contains inhibitors,which make it safe for cleaning iron and steel components..

Rust solvent with its acid strength coupled with an effective blend of emulsifier, solvents, and penetrants make it an ideal singlestep cleaner and deoxidiser for most metals. This material will effectively dissolve rust and scale.

How to use Rust Solvent

OPERATING CONDITIONS

Concentration :15-20%
Temperature :50-60 degree centigrade
Dip Time:10-15 minutes
Point age :16-20

Control

Concentration of rust solvent.

Take 10 mls of solution, dilute it to 100, mls with water. shake it well, and then take 10 mls. Of this prepared solution and add to it three drops of methyl orange indicator. Titrate the solution against N/10 Sodium Hydroxide till the color changes from pink to yellow. The number of mls. Of N/10 SodiumHydroxide Consumed is the pointage.

Add 1.45 litres of Rust solvent for 100 litre of bath to raise pointageby one.

%age of Iron check

Dillute 10 mls. of bath solution to 100 ml with water. Shake it well,and then take 10 mls. Of this prepared solution and add to it 5 ml of 50% conc.Sulphuric acid. Titrate the solution against N/10 Potassium Permanganate solution till the pink colour persists for fifteen seconds.

%age of iron = number of mls. of N/10 potassium Permanganate used x0.56

EQUIPMENT

Suitable containers are rubber/Pvc lined or lead lined steel tanks.Proper ventilation is recommended since there is evolution of hydrogen gas causing acid spray.
